My review: ๐งก๐️๐✝️๐๐️๐งก
I watched "Hercules" when I was a teenager while living in Heide-Kalmthout, Belgium. Back then I was going to high school at the Royal Atheneum of Ekeren (KAE) and was focusing on getting my high school diploma. I do not remember exactly when I watched Hercules but I do remember that I enjoyed watching the animated movie a lot! The music is simply superb! And the animations are done in an ancient greek style. Hercules is one of the best movies from Disney next to the Lion King in my eyes.
In Ancient Greece, the gods Zeus and Hera have a son named Hercules. While the other gods are joyful, Zeus' wicked brother Hades plots to overthrow Zeus and rule Mount Olympus. Through the Fates, Hades learns that in eighteen years, a planetary alignment will allow him to free the Titans to conquer Olympus, but only if Hercules does not interfere. Hades sends his minions, Pain and Panic, to murder Hercules, providing them with a potion that can strip a god of immortality. The two kidnap the baby and feed him the potion, but a married farmer couple pass nearby, causing the demons to flee before Hercules could drink every last drop; therefore he is only stripped of immortality but retains his god-like strength. The couple adopt Hercules and Pain and Panic decide not to report their failure to Hades.
Years later, the teenage Hercules becomes an outcast for his inability to control his strength. Wondering about his origins, he decides to visit the Temple of Zeus for answers. There, a statue of Zeus comes to life and reveals all to Hercules, telling him that he can earn back his godhood by becoming a "true hero."
When I watched the movie my favorite character of the film was "Hades" because he in his own personal way was a really interesting character! In a weird way I identified more with Hades than with Hercules! Hades works day and night to make his plans to become sole ruler of the universe and throws every wicked monster at Hercules. (the Fates have told Hades that if Hercules would become a grown man that his plans to conquer Olympus would fail). Although Hercules is the hero in this animated film I didn't like his naivity, or the fact that he was trying to impress Megara or Meg. Megara reminded me of my older sister and that was for me a big turn off! In fact during the course of the film Meg betrays Hercules because she has a contract with Hades.
I loved the way Hades always exploded in rage against his underlings like Panik and Pain! This made me laugh over and over again!
Years later though I realized that men like Hercules used to be normal in all societies and all realities: kind, warm hearted, naiv and believing in the goodness of everything. And that this should be more common in our societies, for we actually need strong, naiv and kind men! Before the fall into sin in the Bible all men and women were this way!
Hercules is one of my favorite Disney films! And if you haven't watched it yet then I highly suggest you watch it! This film can be seen by all age groups!
Metaphysical meaning of Hercules: ๐งก๐️๐✝️๐๐️๐งก
The Disney Film "Hercules" (1997) is part of the story of the salvation of the whole world through Jesus Christ! I've had numerous episodes where I saw Hades and Hercules in the other world talking to younger people on why this was all happening! In short if you watched Hercules as young adult or as a child you have talked to him in your dreams!
The hardest working character though was Hades in my episodes! He worked himself nearly to death to make sure that everyone gets their contracts through Jesus Christ.
If you want a good animated film to watch, then I suggest you watch Hercules!
