Platoon is a 1986 American war film written and directed by Oliver Stone, starring Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, Charlie Sheen, Keith David, Kevin Dillon, John C. McGinley, Forest Whitaker, and Johnny Depp. It is the first film of a trilogy of Vietnam War films directed by Stone, followed by Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Heaven and Earth (1993). The film, based on Stone's experience from the war, follows a new U.S. Army volunteer (Sheen) serving in Vietnam while his Platoon Sergeant and his Squad Leader (Berenger and Dafoe) argue over the morality in the platoon and of the war itself.

In 1967, U.S. Army volunteer Chris Taylor arrives in South Vietnam and is assigned to an infantry platoon of the 25th Infantry Division near the Cambodian border. Though the platoon is officially under the command of the young and inexperienced Lieutenant Wolfe, the soldiers instead defer to two of his older and more experienced subordinates: the cynical Staff Sergeant Barnes, and the more compassionate Sergeant Elias.
Taylor is deployed with Barnes, Elias and other experienced soldiers for a night ambush on a North Vietnamese Army force. An NVA patrol appears, leading to a brief firefight. Taylor is wounded while another new recruit, Gardner, is killed. Upon his return to base from the aid station, Taylor bonds with Elias and his circle of marijuana smokers while remaining distant from Barnes and his more hard-edged followers.
During a subsequent patrol, two soldiers are killed by a booby trap and another by unseen assailants. Already on edge, the platoon is further angered when they discover an enemy supply cache in a nearby village. Barnes aggressively interrogates the village chief about whether the villagers have been aiding the NVA, and kills his wife when she confronts him. He then demands information from the chief while holding a gun to the head of the man's young daughter. Elias arrives and, disgusted with Barnes, attacks him. Wolfe breaks up their fistfight. He orders the supplies destroyed and the village razed. Wolfe feigns ignorance when Elias accuses him of not stopping Barnes. Taylor prevents two girls from being gang-raped by some of Barnes' men.

My review: ⚔️🪖✝️🪖⚔️
I re-started to watch the movie "Platoon" today and I must say the realism is top notch! It really shows the problems that soldiers face while being in a jungle during possible combat situations. And that most of these young men have no possible future or jobs at home! Chris (Charlie Sheen) in the movie comes from a wealthy background and volunteers to fight in the Vietnam war. He dropped out of college because he stated that he wasn't learning anything there. And he hopes that this new experience would give him at least something new to learn about. Chris writes to his grandmother in the movie and does not have a girlfriend or wife waiting for him at home. Some men volunteer for war duty because they simply don't feel anything inside or feel empty. Platoon depicts in my eyes the true horrors of war during the Vietnam War. Oliver Stone the director of the movie served in the 25th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in between 1967 to 1968.
To be honest when I was a young man I was fascinated by war movies. Somehow I was programmed to believe that dieing "righteously" in some foreign war would be a good thing for me (more accurately I was programmed to die for Israel because of my fake history as a German), or I believed back then that if you die in some foreign war that you are a "hero" for your people. The sad truth is that most wars today and in history were fabricated or provoked by the so called true rulers of the world! And that only a minority of wars in history were truly righteous in my eyes (when a nation woke up and found out the truth and tried changing the world for the better). In my opinion all nations of the world should have mandatory military service. The men of all nations should be trained in all aspects of combat. But this should only serve to defend your nation's boundaries and not be used to "defend" geopolitical interests across the globe as most U.S. wars in history were! In these movies like "Platoon" and "Full Metal Jacket" they keep telling us that "we should defend our freedoms". What are the U.S. Americans doing thousands of miles away from their homeland killing other men and innocent civilians? Certainly not defending their countries! Defending your borders means that all soldiers of the world should stay in their homelands, and if needed are mobilized to their own country's borders to defend their homeland's border against potential invaders or attackers! And they should not be mobilized thousands of miles away be it in Europe (during World War 2), be it in Japan, be it in Korea, be it in Vietnam, be it in Irak, be it in Syria, by it in Libya, and so on!
Sadly most men in the last 100 years have been brainwashed to believe that it is "righteous" to die for geopolitical interests of the powers that be that rule our world today. Henry Kissinger stated once:
Soldiers are nothing but useless pawns to be sacrificed in wars for our own interests.
Those that instigate these wars never go fight by themselves! These politicians who are nothing but puppets for the true power holders sacrifice millions of their men and women for these senseless wars! If one nations tries to break free from this global conspiracy of satanic scumbags, then the other countries are used to destroy this nation that tries to break free. As it happened to the Third Reich and to Japan during World War 2. More modern examples are Irak and Libya! If you break the financial grip of these power holders over any country, you will automatically be totally destroyed for daring to free your people!

Both the U.S.A. and Soviet Union were under direct control of these secret rulers! And by the principle of Hegel: "Divide and Conquer" they conquered the entire world and split it in two parts! One side communist and one side capitalist! In essence the Vietnam War was a political war, it was not meant to be won! The goal of the Vietnam War was to demoralize the Vietnamese people to such an extent that they would either accept Soviet Communism or U.S. Capitalism. Both sides were though under direct control of these sick deranged monsters that keep creating war after war! Today they are doing the same in between Ukraine and Russia. The war in Ukraine right now is not meant to be won! A nation as large as Russia with so many ressources, wealth, men and weapons could have easily conquered or "liberated" Ukraine within 3 months if they were truly interested in conquering that nation. The war in Ukraine today has been going on since 3 years now! The war provocation though has been going on a lot longer. The Zios who rule over us make billions in selling new weapons and can test them in these wars that apparently never seem to end. Sadly many men and even women die in these real life horror games that the satanic rulers create over and over again!
In essence I am for all the peoples of the world that want to live in peace and true freedom! I am against any politican or secret cabal that want eternal suffering and warfare! And in my beliefs when Jesus Christ returns he will come back not to begin a war, but to end all wars for good! Jesus Christ and the Father in the Heavens want peace not war! But we all know that Satan and it's underlings will never give up power in a nice and peaceful way! The Bible tells us that there will be an Endtimes battle of Armageddon. The last and final battle when Jesus Christ returns with his heavenly armies to defeat Satan and her minions on Earth and beyond. Jesus Christ will end the dominion of Satan for good!
The movie "Platoon" is though a very well created movie in my eyes, a very emotional movie that shows the true horrors of war. And if you want to see a movie that depicts a story within the Vietnam War then I suggest you watch it. But be aware that it is also a schocking movie! You have to have a mature mind to watch it! And no, children and in my eyes not even teenagers should watch this movie!
My personal experiences in the German Airforce: ⚔️🪖✝️🪖⚔️
I personally served in the German Airforce in 2003. Back then the military service was still mandatory in Germany. Although the 3 months of basic training were tough I considered this experience in the German military as a good experience! I even wanted to become a fighter pilot for the German Airforce. I passed all academic tests, but sadly failed the psychological test. They literary told me: "You are too patriotic and you want to replace the instability in your life with the stability of the Bundeswehr (German Army)". I was the only one in my room of 6 recruits that was motivated to do everything right! All others were depressed and were military service refusers. Our room was even named "the sick room" because nearly all of them pretended to be sick over and over again. Whereas I was proud to serve my country! Similar to the movie "Full Metal Jacket" some of us including me were treated harshly by our drill sergeants. And similar to the movie "Full Metal Jacket" we always had to reply "No sir, I am not fucking with you! Sir!" (in German: Sergeant Major: "Wollen Sie mich verarschen Flieger Kern? Nein, Herr Oberfeldwebel Schlender! I will Sie nicht verarschen!")
