Desperate Housewives is an American mystery comedy-drama television series created by Marc Cherry, and produced by ABC Studios and Cherry Productions. It aired for eight seasons on ABC from October 3, 2004, until May 13, 2012, for a total of 180 episodes.

Set on Wisteria Lane, a street in the fictional town of Fairview in the fictional Eagle State, Desperate Housewives follows the lives of a group of women as seen through the eyes of their friend and neighbor who commits suicide in the pilot episode. The series covers fifteen years of the women's lives, which includes a five-year timeline jump in the series' narrative. The women work through domestic struggles and family life, while being faced with the secrets, crimes, and mysteries hidden behind the doors of their on-the-surface—beautiful, and seemingly perfect, suburban neighborhood.

Plot (Season 1): ✨❤️✝️❤️✨

The first season premiered on October 3, 2004, and introduces the four central characters of the show: Susan Mayer, Lynette Scavo, Bree Van de Kamp and Gabrielle Solis, as well as their families and neighbors on Wisteria Lane. The main mystery of the season is the unexpected suicide of Mary Alice Young, and the involvement of her husband Paul Young (Mark Moses) and their son Zach (Cody Kasch) in the events leading up to it. Susan fights promiscuous neighbour Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan) for the affection of new neighbor Mike Delfino (James Denton), Lynette struggles to cope with her four demanding children, Bree fights to save her marriage to Rex Van de Kamp (Steven Culp) while dealing with her rebellious son Andrew Van de Kamp (Shawn Pyfrom), and Gabrielle tries to prevent her husband Carlos Solis (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) from discovering that she is having an affair with their gardener, John Rowland (Jesse Metcalfe).

My review: ✨❤️✝️❤️✨

I rewatched all seasons of "Desperate Housewives" while still living in Schüttorf, Germany in 2019 and rewatching the series with a more mature mind made me love the series even more! Somehow I had many synchronicities while rewatching the series. I watched part of the show while still living in Berlin around 2010 and I also liked it a lot back then! But after rewatching the series I understood the problems of the different characters more. The series goes about five single and married women in Wisteria Lane in a US american town called "Fairview". It shows us how some women have difficulties being stay at home mothers like in this series Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), she had to give up her career to take care of her children. It shows us that beautiful women like Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) marry wealthy men to have a secure and luxurious future, it shows us that there are women who try to do everything perfect like Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross) and it shows us romantic women who believe in love like Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher). Although the series evolves around these five main female characters these women are either married or have relationships with men. And my favorite male character is Mike Delfino (James Denton).

What I find realistic about this series is that women like Gabrille Soli, who marry for wealth and a luxurious lifestyle, that they tend to get bored quickly with their husbands, and also tend to have affairs on the side of their marriage (and with it, all the problems that come with such affairs). I also have had experiences often in my life with women like Bree Vad de Kamp who are somehow so fixated on getting everything perfect that they forget to make their husbands and children happy.

There are of course also women who truly believe in true love and true romance like Susan Mayer and she really tries hard to find the right man independent of his wealth and or income.

While rewatching the series in Schüttorf, Germany, the wife of our direct neighbor committed suicide (apparently, we don't really know), so while rewatching the series where also an apparent suicide takes place this happened to me in real life!

I will not reveal too much of the story from the series here. All I can say is that this series and or story is simply a superb and a very entertaining series! I've had numerous episodes with nearly all characters in the series, and I tried as best as I could in these episodes to help these characters, notably Bree Van de Kamp where I tried to explain to her where her real problems were. All I can say, if you want to watch a great story and series then I suggest you watch the series "Desperate Housewives"!

According to my metaphysical experiences the story of "Desperate Housewives" is an approximation of a real story that actually happened in the pan-multiversal continuum! Susan Mayer represents the female aspect of creation trying to solve the problem, and Mike Delfino is the male aspect of creation trying to solve the problem!
